The MiraNila Story

MiraNila Compound in Quezon City is a heritage site rich in history and cultural significance. Built in 1929 by the Benitez family, this majestic villa that was occupied by the Japanese in WWII, was spared thanks to their vigilant gardener, who revealed himself as a Japanese officer.

The main house, with its Italianate architecture, features elegant porches, balconies, and deep bracketed eaves. It welcomed dignitaries, family, and friends, and remains the only house on historic Mariposa Street with its original fixtures and furnishings.

In 2011, MiraNila was granted Heritage House status by the National Historical Commission and transformed into a living museum. The adjacent townhouse, built in 1990, now functions as MiraNamin Nest, managed by The Nest By The Sea, in partnership with Bizu Patisserie and The Blue Leaf.

MiraNila hosts celebrations, reunions, and cultural events, offering visitors a unique blend of history and modernity.

Our Heritage, Yours to Discover

Each corner of the MiraNamin Nest invites you to explore its storied past and celebrate the colorful tapestry of cultures that connect us with the different islands of the Philippines. Guests can get a feel of this from the variety of native fabrics used in our pillows and furniture. Embark on a culinary expedition with Filipino recipes in the well-equipped shared kitchen, then wander to the rooftop for panoramic views of the MiraNila estate. The serene patios offer the perfect spot to unwind and soak in the rejuvenating energy of the sun.

In the mornings, help yourself to our complimentary items to prepare your breakfast: home-grown sourdough bread, peanut butter with cacao and chocolate porridge, or champorado. Sit back and take sip of a special brew of beans sourced from the world-class coffee farms of Mindanao.

Help yourself to our collection of books that tell the stories of our people, or take a tour of a magnificent structure emblematic of a glorious period in our history that opens its doors to the world, right outside your window. Immerse yourself in the cultural richness and history of the Gumamela Suite. Book your stay today and experience the magic of heritage beautifully preserved and waiting for you to discover! 🌿✨
